ABOUT US

Living Hope at Ballantyne was originally the Covenant Baptist Church. Covenant began in October of 1981 as a mission of the Carmel Baptist Church.  The founding pastor, Jim Temples, led Covenant until his passing in November 2000.  The church met for three months in the LaPetite Academy Daycare facility on Carmel Road before moving to the Carmel Span Office building in 1982.  In 1983, with the help of the Mecklenburg Baptist Association, Covenant purchased 20 acres of land on Providence Road West.  Construction began in the fall of 1984 and was completed in the spring of 1985. In the spring of 2012, an education facility was completed to help house the weekday preschool and provide additional space for other ministries.

In June of 2015, the congregation voted to change the name of Covenant to Living Hope at Ballantyne. Living Hope is a cooperating member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and the Metrolina Baptist Association.
